1 初到斯特林

　　九月初飛機(jī)降落在格拉斯哥國(guó)際機(jī)場(chǎng)那刻，第一時(shí)間打了電話(huà)給爸爸報(bào)了平安，當(dāng)?shù)貢r(shí)間已是傍晚七點(diǎn)多，我深呼吸了一口微涼的空氣，排隊(duì)等待入關(guān)。海關(guān)叔叔上下打量了我一下后問(wèn)，你要去哪所學(xué)校讀書(shū)?讀哪個(gè)專(zhuān)業(yè)?我回答說(shuō)國(guó)際沖突與合作。他說(shuō)，umm，這個(gè)世界確實(shí)存在很多沖突，好好學(xué)習(xí)哦姑娘~至今我仍然記得那個(gè)叔叔呆萌的表情和鼓勵(lì)的話(huà)語(yǔ)，留學(xué)之行正式開(kāi)始。

　　我拖著兩個(gè)20公斤的行李，累die。稱(chēng)職的帥哥學(xué)長(zhǎng)準(zhǔn)時(shí)到達(dá)機(jī)場(chǎng)接到我，和我簡(jiǎn)單寒暄了幾句就幫我拿行李，驅(qū)車(chē)前往斯特林。一路和我講他的學(xué)習(xí)經(jīng)驗(yàn)和各種在斯村生活小tips。斯特林距離格拉斯哥大約45分鐘車(chē)程，它的原名是皇家堡，歷史上蘇格蘭的皇城，高貴皇家范兒的小城，至今還保留著中世紀(jì)的風(fēng)格，整座城市彌漫著古典高貴的味道。

　　第一晚，我和另外一位北京女孩暫時(shí)落腳在一家hostel,就在我們租的房子旁邊，晚上我們漫步在小城許久，斯特林城堡，教堂，古色古香的歐式建筑，當(dāng)時(shí)真有些穿越時(shí)空的感覺(jué)，我愛(ài)這里——興奮期待著新的生活。

　　2 留學(xué)生活日常

　　到學(xué)校注冊(cè)付完學(xué)費(fèi)后，我漫步在學(xué)校，被美麗的校園景色迷得邁不動(dòng)腳步。第一天我就找到了學(xué)校的城堡，這個(gè)鬼斧神工的精致建筑是國(guó)王的城堡，美輪美奐!讀書(shū)期間最喜歡的時(shí)刻就是手捧一杯濃濃的Costa在圖書(shū)館面窗的角落看一會(huì)兒書(shū)，望著窗外的天鵝，等待去上課。左手咖啡，右手書(shū)籍，挎著劍橋包漫步在天鵝湖畔走向Pathfoot教學(xué)樓是我每天的routine。

　　我們專(zhuān)業(yè)一共有八個(gè)同學(xué)，其中六位的母語(yǔ)是英語(yǔ)，另外就是我和一名巴基斯坦男生。一天課程結(jié)束后，我在學(xué)校乘坐UL或者63路公交車(chē)到市中心，到家后歡快地放下書(shū)和包包，溜達(dá)到附近的shopping mall逛街或者到CaféNero里點(diǎn)杯心愛(ài)的摩卡，安靜一會(huì)兒，有時(shí)候在市中心的小店間晃蕩~I wasn’t actually buying anything;I wasbuying the leisure,the freedom,of walking in an ancient city,smelling thecoffee and cakes,desperately breathing the moment that I knew I would bemissing so much.

　　3 攻克學(xué)習(xí)難關(guān)

　　秋學(xué)期我選了三門(mén)核心課程，其中最難的一門(mén)課是Research Methods to InternationalPolitics,因?yàn)槲覀儗?zhuān)業(yè)只有我一個(gè)中國(guó)女生，其他同學(xué)都是操一口飛快流利的英音。起初我是崩潰的，因?yàn)槲液茈y完全聽(tīng)懂他們?cè)谡f(shuō)什么。

　　九月份第一堂課后因?yàn)闊o(wú)法融入西方課堂，課后我崩潰大哭發(fā)郵件給老師尋求幫助，師恩難忘，這一生我都會(huì)放在內(nèi)心最柔軟的地方。我的導(dǎo)師Dr.Andrew Glencross是個(gè)年輕有為的學(xué)術(shù)天才，長(zhǎng)得太帥，也是在學(xué)習(xí)上對(duì)我無(wú)比照顧的老師，每次上課我不敢正眼看他……更重要的是，他畢業(yè)于劍橋和哈佛，在英國(guó)讀書(shū)期間，他把我?guī)驓W盟政治的知識(shí)殿堂里。想到這里有些抑制不住眼淚，感謝老師的鼓勵(lì)讓我堅(jiān)持下去。每當(dāng)我上臺(tái)做presentation他會(huì)給與我足夠的關(guān)注。

　　下面是其中一封老師的鼓勵(lì)郵件原文：

　　我開(kāi)始付出更多的時(shí)間和精力在課前閱讀準(zhǔn)備上，在征得老師同意后，我錄下老師的講課，在課后我反復(fù)review,深入理解老師的思路和同學(xué)們的討論。逐漸在之后的seminar里我開(kāi)始聽(tīng)懂大部分知識(shí)點(diǎn)，也更積極地在課堂上代表group發(fā)言。

　　4 結(jié)語(yǔ)

　　在英國(guó)一年半的時(shí)間里，發(fā)生了很多有趣難忘的事情。很難一一描述，引用一段英國(guó)留學(xué)期間的日記來(lái)結(jié)束我對(duì)那段溫暖的不列顛歲月的回憶。

　　“Living in Britain was so much different from living in China,wher people are troubled with trifles and wher living is degraded to surviving.I felt,for the first time in my life,a moment of peace and gratitude.I began to see things through in all the time I had,when I did not have to be bothered by anyone jumping a queue or spitting to the ground as Ihad in China.I began to understand things,things that were shadowed or blindedby the busyness of life in China.And maybe it was due to the loneliness thatdid I come to value sentiments that I had ignored or taken for granted.

　　I saw pigeons walk among people on the plaza.Inoticed an ordinary librarian smile and explain patiently to every student who had confusion.I heard cashiers at small shops say good mornings in a voice sogenuine and happy that it warmed my heart in the winter wind.Every time I helda warm cup of Mocha in my hand and wandered about the streets,I felt my heartas light and cheerful as had captured the first trace of sunlight through thewindow frame.

　　I am not saying therewere no moments of frustration or depression.I am not saying they were all good memories.I could not understand the menu at the first time when I dined in a local restaurant and it took me a century to google the dishes out.My chats with locals never went that“local”since I really did notknow how to respond to their jokes.The social circle I squeezed in was greatbut I did not feel any sense of belonging every time in the parties orgatherings.I was just a student,a passer-by of their life whose absence wouldstir no sentiments.”
