Alternatives to the TOEFL
An ACT English score of 21 or an SAT Critical Reading score of 540 may be used to satisfy the English language requirement.

On the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), a total score of 6.5, with no subscore less than 6.0, may be used to satisfy the English language requirement.

All ACT, SAT, and IELTS test takers also will be required to take the on-campus English Proficiency evaluation.

我覺得這個(gè)很嚇人，IIEP前文有介紹，As space permits, conditionally admitted students enroll in the Iowa Intensive English Program (IIEP) for up to one year.
要是英文水平不達(dá)到標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，最多可能要讀一年的語言
而如何不再讀語言了呢？
To change their admission status from conditional to regular (a prerequisite for beginning study in a degree program), students must attain a minimum TOEFL score of 530 on the paper-based test (197 on the computer-based test or 71 on the Internet-based test) and complete an English proficiency evaluation. based on the results, these students may:


be allowed to take a full academic course load excluding English as a Second Language (ESL) courses;
be required to enroll in credit-bearing ESL courses in addition to regular academic courses; or
be required to continue in the IIEP until their language proficiency reaches an appropriate level.
